Position Summary
The Seasonal Tax Preparation Specialist is a temporary position for an initial three-month period, with potential for extension, responsible for preparing accurate and timely individual and corporate U.S. tax returns during peak tax season. Operating in an in-office environment, this role focuses heavily on tax return production and compliance using Drake Software. The position requires a deep understanding of U.S. tax regulations, income statement reviews, and tax liability calculations to perform independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and process individual and corporate U.S. tax returns accurately and efficiently.
Utilize Drake Software extensively for tax return preparation and filing.
Review financial records, income statements, and supporting documentation to ensure tax compliance.
Calculate tax liabilities, identify deductions, and ensure adherence to current U.S. tax laws and regulations.
Assist with related compliance filings and documentation.
Identify and resolve tax-related discrepancies independently.
Maintain accurate tax records in alignment with internal systems and production workflows.
Requirements:
Strong working experience with Drake Software.
Deep understanding of U.S. tax laws, compliance, and regulations.
Solid experience in U.S. tax return preparation during tax seasons.
Experience reviewing financial records and income statements for tax purposes.
Ability to identify missing information and resolve tax discrepancies independently.
Strong understanding of deductions and tax liabilities for both individual and corporate returns.
Prior experience working efficiently under pressure during peak season in a fast-paced environment.
Strong time management, detail orientation, and solution-focused problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience with additional tax preparation software platforms or CPA firm workflows.
Prior experience in a multi-client BPO or shared services environment.
Active CPA certification, Enrolled Agent (EA) status, or relevant tax credentials.

Solving tax preparation discrepancies independently within scope with minimal repeated instruction.
Maintaining reliable completion of assigned tax preparation duties.
