In-Office
Are you a strategic finance leader passionate about driving accuracy, consistency, and accountability across a multi-country accounting function? We're looking for a Finance and Accounting Senior Manager to lead the finance and accounting team at our largest operating location, while coordinating and consolidating financial reporting across all countries where the company operates.
In this role, you will direct and coordinate outsourced accounting providers and external finance partners across multiple geographies, holding them to one common close calendar and one set of standards, while ensuring accurate recording in the company's accounting system. As a senior, high-visibility position reporting directly to the CEO, this role carries real decision-making authority over accounting policy, the close calendar, and financial systems across the organization. The ideal candidate has strong leadership and analytical skills, sound judgment in accounting policy and governance, and proven experience managing financial reporting and consolidation within a multi-country, fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do as a Finance and Accounting Senior Manager
Lead the core finance team
• Own general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll for the company's largest operating location.
• Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of accounting professionals.
• Deliver a clean, accurate month-end close on a consistent monthly schedule.
• Ensure all local statutory and regulatory filings are accurate and submitted on time.
Coordinate finance across multiple countries
• Set and enforce a global close calendar and a common submission standard for every location.
• Direct the outsourced accounting providers and external finance partners supporting the company's other countries of operation.
• Review and challenge each location's monthly financial submission before it is accepted into the group ledger.
• Own the intercompany process end to end: billing, funding, matching, reconciliation, and elimination.
• Apply foreign currency translation consistently and explain its impact on results.
Own the accounting system
• Serve as the finance owner of the company's ERP system, including data integrity, structure, and access control.
• Make sure each location's activity is recorded correctly the first time, so consolidation is a review step rather than a rebuild.
• Identify and drive automation and process improvements to shorten the close and reduce manual work.
Report, analyze, and advise
• Prepare the monthly consolidated financial reporting package for the CEO and leadership team, including variance commentary.
• Analyze performance by location, client program, and line of business, and surface risks and opportunities early.
• Support the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasts.
• Prepare reporting packages for lenders, banks, and other external stakeholders.
• Establish and monitor internal controls across all entities, including where accounting work is outsourced.
• Maintain segregation of duties, approval thresholds, and documentation standards.
• Coordinate the annual external audit for the group and each legal entity.
• Work with external tax advisors on corporate, transfer pricing, and indirect tax matters.
• Support cash forecasting and intercompany funding so every location is funded accurately and on time.
What We're Looking For
Required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• At least 8 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least 3 years leading a team.
• Hands-on experience with multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation.
• Strong working knowledge of local statutory, tax, and payroll compliance requirements in the primary country of operation.
• ERP ownership experience, with the ability to take ownership of a new system quickly.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to present financial results clearly to a senior leadership team.
• Willingness to work with some schedule overlap into US business hours.
Preferred
• Experience in shared services, or another people-intensive service business.
• Experience managing or coordinating outsourced accounting providers across multiple countries.
• Experience with group reporting under US GAAP alongside local statutory reporting.
• Exposure to a regulated control environment (for example, SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, or ISO 27001).
• Experience with a consolidation or FP&A planning platform.
How You Work
• Organized and deadline-driven, and you hold others accountable without drama.
• You document your work; if it is not written down and supportable, it is not finished.
• Comfortable being the person who says a number is not right yet.
• Direct, discreet, and uncompromising on integrity and confidentiality.
• Curious about the business behind the numbers, not just the ledger.
