What You Will Do as a Solar Construction Inspection Technician

The Solar Construction Inspection Technician (SCIT) is responsible for ensuring all PV systems are built in accordance with industry-leading quality best practices. This is accomplished through detailed reviews of post-installation photos, project documentation, and quality assurance checklists.


Key Responsibilities:

• Assess internal and partner design and installation quality through regular photo reviews and quality inspections.

• Support the Field Service team through proactive identification and escalation of technical issues.

• Leverage knowledge of solar design, installation techniques, NEC requirements, and building codes to determine if installations meet company quality standards.

• Gather and analyze data to provide constructive feedback to design and installation teams.

• Identify and manage corrective actions required to bring installations up to standard and initiate field quality assurance dispatches when necessary.

• Serve as an internal PV subject matter expert for cross-functional projects and technical support initiatives.

• Contribute to technical documentation, including technical bulletins, webinar content, training presentations, and product reviews.

• Meet performance goals and productivity metrics established by management.

• Adhere to schedules and operational standards designated by leadership.

• Maintain professionalism and responsiveness in workplace and online communications.

• Actively participate in weekly meetings, one-on-one sessions, and team huddles through meaningful engagement and collaboration.

What We're Looking For

• Educational Background: College-level education preferred. High School Graduates and College Undergraduates may be considered if supported by strong qualifications and relevant experience.

• Proven experience in solar construction, solar inspections, quality assurance, field service, or related technical solar roles, preferably supporting U.S.-based operations.

• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, installation best practices, NEC requirements, and applicable building codes.

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform comprehensive photo reviews, technical assessments, and quality evaluations.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify installation deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with field service, installation, design, and cross-functional teams.

• Experience creating or contributing to technical documentation, training materials, reports, and quality improvement initiatives is highly preferred.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach.
