Position Overview:
As a Regulator & Gear Technician at Dive Addicts, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of diving regulators and other diving gear. Your role is critical in ensuring that our equipment meets the highest safety and performance standards. Working closely with our dive shop team, you will help our customers dive safely and confidently by providing expert technical support and advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance & Repair:

    • Service, repair, and perform routine maintenance on regulators, buoyancy compensators, dive computers, and other diving equipment.
    • Conduct thorough inspections of gear to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
    • Diagnose issues with equipment and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing:

    • Test and calibrate regulators and other critical components to ensure optimal performance.
    • Document all maintenance and repair activities, maintaining detailed service records.
    • Follow industry guidelines and manufacturer recommendations during all service operations.
  • Customer Interaction & Support:

    • Provide technical support and gear advice to customers, answering questions and offering maintenance recommendations.
    • Educate customers on proper care and maintenance of their diving equipment.
    • Manage customer service requests related to gear servicing, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
  • Inventory & Equipment Management:

    • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and supplies necessary for servicing diving gear.
    • Recommend and help order parts and supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
    • Collaborate with the dive shop team to manage work orders and prioritize service requests.
  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Ensure all work adheres to local, state, and industry safety standards.
    • Stay up-to-date with current diving equipment technology and industry best practices.
    • Participate in periodic training and certification programs to maintain technical proficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Proven experience in repairing and servicing diving regulators and related diving equipment.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and testing equipment used in gear maintenance.
  • Diving Knowledge:

    • A passion for diving with a solid understanding of dive gear operation and safety protocols.
    • Certification as a diver (e.g., Open Water, Advanced, or similar) is highly beneficial.
  • Problem-Solving & Attention to Detail:

    • Excellent troubleshooting skills with a keen eye for detail in diagnosing and repairing equipment issues.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Communication & Customer Service:

    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical information in a clear, understandable manner.
    • Experience in a customer-facing role is an asset.
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Flexibility to work weekends or occasional evenings as required by dive center operations.
    • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety regulations.
