Your Role: Safety Representative – Supporting teams, preventing hazards, and promoting a culture of safety excellence.
As a Safety Representative, you will contribute to Sukut’s success by supporting our safety team and partnering with project teams to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites. This role plays a key part in implementing safety initiatives, conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a culture of safety excellence across all projects.
This position supports our Northern California operations, with an initial assignment located approximately 60 miles outside of Sacramento. Following the initial project assignment, the role will be based out of our Folsom satellite office, with regular travel to active job sites as needed.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
Conduct or assist with regular inspections of construction sites, equipment, and tools to identify potential hazards.
Collaborate with regional safety managers and project team members to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
Attend and participate in safety and project meetings in support of the safety function, including high-risk activity reviews.
Assist with organizing and documenting safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors.
Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
Support the investigation of incidents and near-misses, compiling detailed reports as directed.
Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Provide administrative support to the safety team, including scheduling meetings and maintaining files.
Assist in distributing safety materials and resources to promote a culture of safety awareness.
Travel regularly throughout Northern California to various construction project sites.
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (or a combination of equivalent education and experience).
Clean driving record for travel throughout Northern California.
1–3 years of safety experience required.
Eligibility to work in the United States, full-time with regular hours typically Monday – Friday.
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive, confidential, and time-sensitive duties discreetly.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions and safety regulations.
Working knowledge of—or the ability to quickly learn—construction safety practices, including Federal and Cal/OSHA requirements.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
A solid work ethic and commitment to maintaining a safe, productive work environment.
Nice to Have But Not Necessary
3+ years of experience in a construction safety or related field.
Prior experience in a construction environment or exposure to construction safety practices.

Compensation
The reasonable compensation range for this position includes a new hire base annual rate of $90,000 – 130,0000 per year + comprehensive benefits + potential for a discretionary profit-sharing bonus.
Individual pay within this compensation range may span multiple levels within the role and is determined by assessing job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. It also factors in market demands and business needs. The disclosed range may be subject to change or modification based on business needs in the future.
